Six Books of the Dead are known from the city of Akhmim and this second volume in the series presents two of them. Written during the late 1st century, the Papyrus of Hor (EA 10479) is one of the last Books of the Dead to have been produced in Egypt and its 38 spells and 33 vignettes provide a good insight into the thoughts and beliefs of the priestly class working in the temple of the god Min.
